Chapter 8 summary for Noughts and Crosses.
Sephy has gone to a boarding school called Chivers and it has given her a chance to develop as a person away from the family environment she was in while she was at Heathcroft. She had joined a group in school that helps to create peace and equality between the Noughts and Crosses. Sephy aspires to be a lawyer after she finishes school.
Callum’s life has also drastically changed. He is fully apart of the Liberation Militia and is in one the highest ranks. He has changed as a person, has killed and hurt many people. Callum has been separated from his family ( Jude and Meggie ) for at least 3 years. Jude suddenly comes back and tries to test Callum’s loyalty by planning the kidnapping of Sephy.
The kidnapping of Sephy is successful and Sephy has lost all trust in Callum because of the way it was all pulled off. Their main meeting point, the beach, after all these years of not seeing each other. Sephy recognises a familiar face from the Liberation Militia group of the man named Andrew Dom. On the day of the ransom drop, Pete is killed and Leila is arrested but Jude and Morgan elude the police.
Meanwhile, Callum had stayed back to keep an eye out for Sephy. They talk and end up making love to each other but is soon caught by Jude and he thinks that Callum had raped her which makes the brothers have a fight. Sephy escapes but Callum also helps her to get away from the area. Sephy tells Callum that Andrew Dom is a spy for her father and he is traitor that shouldn’t be trusted.
This Chapter is full of action and keeps you on edge the entire way through. We see the protagonists character and personality change drastically compared to what they started off from at the start of the book. Sephy and Callum’s relationship takes a lot of dips but they end up becoming stronger than ever.
